Introduction to Solar Power Technology
By Orlando Racelis
When you log on to your Yahoo news, you will probably get reports about fuel oil crisis and global warming side effects. Who is to blame for these? Well, I think it is not important as to who is to put the blame on to. What is important is let us try to find a way on how we can resolve it. An alternative solution as you might say and my suggestion is the use of Solar Power Technology.
Why Solar Power Technology by the way? Well, I will tell you why. Here the bullet points I gathered for you:
· It is everywhere. Wherever there is sunlight, you can harness its power.
· It is a renewable energy source that are originating from the sun.
· It does not contribute pollution to the Earth we live in.
· It gives you energy savings.
· You can get it for free. All you need only is a small investment to harness its power.
· You can make extra income from the excess power you generated.
There is no doubt that the energy from the sun gives us many benefits that we should be thankful and be happy about it. It has become a part of our daily lives. It is about time that we maximize its power potential. By harnessing its energy, we are helping the preservation of non-renewable natural resources at same time minimizing the smoke emitted from these fossil fuel.
It is very evident that global warming is behind the big floods and hurricanes we experienced recently. Let us help each other to use renewable energy sources and encourage our neighbors to do the same. With the cooperation from all countries, I do not see any reason why we can not achieve a cleaner and safer world to live in. All we need is to make our first step forward.
To our success, and thank you for your time.

Spirit Science Advances NASA's Mars Exploration Rover Spirit has achieved several scientific firsts, but may still have its best "Eureka!" moments in front of it. SOFIA (Joint Venture) The Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy (SOFIA) is a joint venture of the U.S. and German aerospace agencies, NASA and the DLR. The aircraft is supplied by the U.S., and the telescope by Germany. Modifications of the Boeing 747SP airframe to accommodate the telescope, mission-unique equipment and large external door were made by L-3 Communications Integrated Systems of Waco, Texas. Ulysses Spacecraft Ends Historic Mission of Discovery Ulysses, a joint NASA and European Space Agency mission, officially ceased operations today, after receiving commands from ground controllers to do so. Ulysses Hears the Siren's Song Ulysses, a joint NASA and European Space Agency mission, will officially end its operations Monday, June 29. Lunar CRater Observation and Sensing Satellite (LCROSS) The Lunar CRater Observation and Sensing Satellite (LCROSS) mission to look for water on the moon will be a 'secondary payload spacecraft.' LCROSS will begin its trip to the moon on the same rocket as the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO), which will conduct a different lunar task. Launch is scheduled for no earlier than June 17th, 2009 on an Atlas V rocket from Kennedy Space Center, Florida. STEREO in Quadrature January 24, 2009 marks the point at which the two STEREO spacecraft reach 90 degrees separation, a condition known as quadrature. Since the two STEREO spacecraft went into orbit around the Sun at the beginning of 2007, they have been slowly drifting apart from Earth, and from each other. After two years in solar orbit, the two spacecraft have finally reached quadrature. SECCHI Makes a Fantastic Recovery! You would think that, after 13-years of historic comet discoveries with SOHO and two years of amazing STEREO/SECCHI observations and discoveries, we had put a check-mark in most of the boxes for comet-related achievements. But last week, Australian comet-hunter Alan Watson helped us with yet another historic achievement -- the recovery of a comet! Here's how it unfolded. December 2008 Astrogram December 08 Astrogram Kepler Kepler is NASA's first mission capable of finding Earth-size and smaller planets. The Kepler mission, scheduled to launch in 2009, will monitor the brightness of stars to find planets that pass in front of them during the planets' orbits. During such passes or 'transits,' the planets will slightly decrease the star's brightness. September 2008 Astrogram Ames hosts Round Table with four former Ames center directors Small Satellite Missions NASA's ability to rapidly develop and launch ground-breaking technologies into space just got more efficient and less expensive. NASA is pulling together engineers and scientist from across the country to develop and fly very small satellites, also called nanosatellites, in extremely short time frames. July 2008 Astrogram Moon Week Celebration Draws Hundreds of Scientists October 2007 Astrogram NASA research indicates oxygen on Earth 2.5 billion years ago. Exploding Lunar Eclipse On Tuesday morning, Aug. 28th, a team of astronomers and engineers at the Marshall Space Flight Center will attempt something never done before--to observe meteoroids hitting the Moon and exploding during a lunar eclipse. Computer Screens to be Virtual ?NASA Spaceship Windows? Over Mars NASA Ames is providing a unique opportunity to the public to suggest photo targets for the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO), the spacecraft that recently took a history-making image of the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity on the rim of Victoria Crater.
